A little word about New Years resolutions….It’s the one time of the year where we take a moment to reflect on ourselves and how we could improve who we are. How come we don’t do this every new month, week, or even day? Everyone knows that after a couple weeks we drop our resolutions and return to life as normal. In order to improve certain aspects of yourself focus on small, daily steps, and over time you will become an overall better person.
Let’s make 2014 beautiful<3

Precious bird—mini titmouse. You know I am here. Flit from branch to branch, back and forth. Alert. Alert. But all I am doing is sitting, listening, observing…The hummingbird buzzes between the umbrage. His nearness uplifts me. I blink—a mistake. He is gone, disguised in the green foliage, or swiftly buzzed afar. I know neither.

There are sparrows in the forest. I’m not quite sure which type they are. But their song is never sung alone. Each note twists around another, stringing a twisting vine of sound until the notes alight to heaven. I don’t know who they are—that’s a petty fact. But I recognize that they exist in their luscious song that could so easily be lost to the drone of traffic. At least they matter to me.
